Red veins (telangiectasia) are commonly referred to as broken veins, dilated capillaries, thread veins or naevi. They are mostly found on the face and legs although they can also appear on the chest and upper back.

They appear as a very fine network of red wavy lines that lie very close to the surface of the skin.
​
They may appear in clusters or individually, and some may be darker than others. A cluster of the red lines or capillaries can take on the appearance of a spider and they are often referred to as spider naevi for this reason.
This condition differs in individuals. It can be as minor as one capillary in an isolated area, or as extreme as multiple capillaries scattered across a larger area.

Additionally, electrolysis is a wonderful compliment to laser hair reduction. Laser is ineffective for hair that is smaller in diameter and lighter in colour, but electrolysis treats these hairs, too.

Computerised electrolysis is fast and highly effective. It is virtually pain-free and very gentle on the skin. Single-use disposable needles are used to remove unwanted hair.

Electrolysis can be performed on most parts of the body, including the nipple, stomach, face and underarm. The only hairs of the body that can't be treated are on areas such as the inside of the nose, ears, eyelids, and genital region. Electrolysis can also remove the hairs left behind from laser.
